College Station, 1000 George Bush Dr W, College Station, TX 77845, USA
This club field trip is to the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station. There are many opportunities here for interesting photographs both inside and out. The museum houses a large collection of memorabilia from his life and time in government service from Congressman to President. The museum is a showcase of the photographic work of a former club guest speaker, David Valdez who was the official photographer for Bush as Vice President and President. The collection includes many items from the smallest things to the large Union Pacific Bush4141 locomotive and the Marine One helicopter.
The buildings that make up the library and museum are very elegant and make for great architectural photographs. The grounds have many gardens, including Barbara Bush's Rose Garden. Both George and Barbara and their daughter, "Robin" are buried there.
The Museum has a restaurant in the Bush 4141 Locomotive building, Daisy's Table.
Admission is $12 for adults, $9 for seniors and retired military members. We encourage those riding in car pools to help defray part of the costs for the driver at their own discretion.
Our plan is to meet at the Kingwood First Baptist Church parking lot at 8 am and get under way as quickly as possible
