KWPC Name Tags For Meetings and Special Club Events

This past week, the Club Board discussed the subject of name tags for meetings. We currently have a pretty simple system for name tags at our monthly meeting, the type that each person fills in as the enter the meeting room and sticks on their chest. We started doing this when we got back to meeting in person after Covid but were still concerned about virus germs being spread, the clip on tags were retired for the time being.

There have been some requests to go back to having personal name tags that clip on or have a lanyard for meetings, they are helpful for new members or guests or those of us, like me, who forget names until I have associated them with a person several times. No doubt, it's a valid request.

We currently have 110 members but typically only have between 15 and 25 attend in person for our monthly meetings. The board agreed that it didn't make sense to print name tags for every member in the club and lay them out before a meeting and collect them afterwards and refile them in an alphabetical expandible file folder as we did in the past. The numb er of attendees just doesn't justify that. And currently, large tables are often not in our meeting room which would mean searching for one and then putting it back as we found it.

So we agreed that the club will take orders for name tags, print, assemble and supply them at no cost to members who request one. Chuck, our IT Guru, has set up an order page at the website where members can order theirs and they can request the clip on type or the neck lanyard kind which some members prefer. Once distributed, it will be up to the member to bring it to wear at our meetings and events, perhaps store it the vehicle they most often drive. The Board also felt club officers should try to wear them at meetings and events since they represent the club and that any member involved in helping with our special photo shoots should wear them to those events.

We will still have the fill in the name type stickers available for guests and new members who wouldn't have a nametag or anyone who forgets to bring there tag.
